John Lewis’s Final Crossing Of The Edmund Pettus Bridge

This morning, I got up to watch This Week With George Stephanopoulos, but instead, I had the good pleasure of witnessing US House Representative John Lewis’ final crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

If you missed it, you missed God’s salute to him.

It started with the people. As the horse drawn cart carrying Representative Lewis’ body neared the beginning of the bridge crossing, the people were yelling their love for him and praise for the work he’d done on their behalf.

But when that cart neared the top of the bridge, it got quiet. You could no longer hear the people. And then it started. As a low buzzing that turned into a loud crescendo of katydids.

I was sitting here tonight, Tuesday July 21, enjoying another episode of Wheel Of Fortune and I felt that I should let Pat and Vanna know that I heard and thoroughly enjoyed every second of their Monday night closing banter over Cloud Gate, better know as The Bean.

Miss Ankum, you must be mistaken! Why would Black folks want to hurt other Black folks, and Black Politicians in particular? You must be mistaken!

No, I’m not.

When I and the stalkers came back to Illinois in November, 1991, Illinois had a Republican governor.

I know that for a fact. Because I met him.

He was coming out of the bank I used over in Melrose Park. I thought it rather strange – because you’d think he’d use a Springfield bank – but told myself that what I was thinking wasn’t actually happening. That, he’d come all that way to see me. The nobody.

I even remember what I was wearing at the time, a white. black, and red striped knit top over a pair of red knit pants. He was in a gray and black tailored suit. And, he was all smiles.

Very polite and very, very charming. He came all the way up to me, as if he knew I wasn’t a bodily threat to him. He didn’t shake my hand, however. He just smiled in my face. Said hello to me, and then went on.

He was with two maybe three other white men, all in grayish dark suits. And I remember the sun was shining.

But, it was him. The man pictured above. Republican Governor Jim Edgar. He had dark, straight hair, parted to the right, back then.

And back in 1991, the goal of Illinois Republicans was to bring down the Daley’s Political Machine.

The Machine.

The phrase has often been used to refer to the Democratic Party-dominated machine, or “boss,” politics of Chicago during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, Political scientist Harold Gosnell wrote the most detailed analysis in Machine Politics: Chicago Style (University of Chicago Press, 1937).

I’m very sure that the stalkers agreed to help the Republicans take down the Chicago Political Machine just so they could continue verbally and sexually harassing me 24/7/365, and getting off sexually from their wanton and flagrant flaunting of The Law.

They (the stalkers) will do anything to continue playing The Game (screaming obscenities as a means of getting off sexually all while trying to gaslight their victim).

Now, as far as Mr. Madigan’s guilt or innocence is concerned, I have absolutely no clue. But, I do know that destroying his, or anyone else’s career, just so that these people can gain the privilege of screaming verbal insults at me, is WRONG.

Lately, I’ve been pushing even harder to get the 24/7/365 screaming and stalking stopped. I’m in my sixties now, and a lot of the stuff these girls are screaming at me have become obsolete and ridiculous. Plus, it’s costing Maywood way too much in terms of financial growth and reputation. I think the stalkers got desperate.

I’m also writing this post today to warn all of our newly elected officials and some long term incumbents (Ed Burke) that the Maywood Police is finally trying to quell some of the screaming and hollering, and as a result, those people stalking me will be out looking for dirt, on you, to trade as leverage with the FBI so that they can get back to sexually harassing me 24/7/365.

And finally, when the people stalking me were allowed to sexually harass me in Church four weeks ago, I realized that this was no longer something you were being forced to do by the FBI, but rather, something you were choosing to do.

Now, what I’ve noticed during the past few summers which have had an exceptional amount of shootings that the Police have blamed on ‘gang violence,’ is that our mind-reading family of girls have NEVER EVER turned in any of the gang leaders.

The problem of gang violence could have been solved, in Chicago, by now. But it’s not. You think about that when you hear the number of Black people shot over this weekend.

And, yet, people tell me I’m crazy when I say that a branch of the same mind reading stalkers stalking me have anything to do with the violence in Chicago. Really?

A Followup To A Post

With regards to my post entitled, 25 Years Ago. The Great Chicago Heat Wave, I’d like to clarify one thing.

In regards to the dream, I did for a long time think that I had hallucinated the whole thing. That Is, until the installation of the sculpture, pictured above, known as The Bean.

I was watching Channel 7 Evening News when I saw it. And I saw how it reflected the sky and the clouds above it. That’s when I knew it wasn’t a dream.

So, now of days I tell myself that the people following me were screaming so loudly and carrying on so badly that the Aliens came down to see what the Hell was going on.

Meanwhile, the Maywood Police and then Mayors Ralph W. Conner and later, Henderson Yarbrough, heard nothing, saw nothing, and did nothing.

Today, as I’ve told Police Vladimir Talley (who was not the Chief of Police in 1995) and Mayor Edwenna Perkins (who was not the Mayor in 1995) that I am NO fan of the Police.

However, I do believe with all my heart and soul that the Police NEED MORE TRAINING. Because, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that someone following me, or any other person, around for over 25 years, screaming constantly day and night, has a mental illness. That just goes without saying.

And worse yet was their attempt to cover things up by turning the situation around and trying to get me to believe that I was hallucinating the whole situation, was beyond malfeasance in office.

Finally, as I tried telling former Mayors Ralph Conner in 1992

(after my disaster meeting with then Police Chief Delafosse) and later, Henderson Yarbrough and the Village Trustees, in 2005,

“If you allow this woman and her family to continue stalking me and screaming and carrying on, in your streets like a crazed idiot, it won’t bode well for the community.”

Ralph Conner ran from me and Yarbrough was polite, but didn’t listen.

To Police Superintendent David Brown, all I can say is that if the aliens came all this way here to find out what was going on, don’t you think people living on the Westside and Southside of Chicago could drive all the way out here to Maywood to find out what all that screaming was about.

Unfortunately, I believe they did. And what they learned over the past 25 – 30 years is that the Police can’t or won’t do their job.

So, please understand, Superintendent Brown, it is going to take you a while to unlearn them of what’s been screamed into their heads for the last 30 years. That it’s OK to take your anger, your hate, your lust, and your need for revenge to the streets. It’s what they’ve been taught.

Now don’t get me wrong, I know my car needs some repair work. But $1800.00 worth of repair work? I don’t think so. That is just over the top excessive. And I believe the stalkers have a lot to do with Currie overbilling me.
